I've tried it. Thought it is only repeating itself. Then i realized. I HAVE A PARACHUTE :D It works really well on Linux. I love the platform mechanics. It feels smooth and reliable. I am waiting for the next DevLog :D
Thank you, you have double jump, dash and then parachute. In the next playtest there is gonna be some UI what is gonna tell you which skill you currently have. I am also gonna make rooms where you must go through different rooms with different abilities (for example you need to go on high platform with double jump then go under the platform with dash…)
Hello. Professional dev here. I don't have any on itch.io yet, and I don't practice game development often.
Wanted to say that the thing itself is really cool, especially if you're 12 year old, so keep going (I wish I started that early), tho wanted to highlight controls. Controls are the most important thing in the game: if they feel bad, the game (even if it's good) will not keep the player interested. I recommend making international game controls so the controls would be easy to understand. Example:
[A and D] or [LEFT ARROW and RIGHT ARROW] to move [W, SPACE or UP ARROW] to jump [S or SHIFT] to dash [X or E] to interact
These all are from big games (like Super Mario Bros.), so the player will understand them more. Recommend making multiple key binds for each movement action.
Thank you, I noticed the problem with many people not liking the same controls so I am alredy working on key bind remaping and controller support so many people can play the playtest
This is only playtest level to get feedback about controls. I am now working on UI, mainmenu and level design so it will be in another playtest version, thanks for feedbac
